Welcome to The Good Life Homestead
It’s been a dream of mine for awhile now to live a homestead life. This year, we are finally making it happen on a small scale. See, we live in a city. It’s a small city of about 25,000 people, so it’s more like a town to me, not much bigger than the one I grew up in. We don’t own a lot of land. In fact, we live inside city limits in a small neighborhood and have just over an eighth of an acre. But I have big plans for our small piece of land.
I’m Angie. Wife and mother to two wild boys. I’m a jack of all trades and master of none, although I do try to reach a certain level of perfection in everything I do. I spend my days blogging, doing chores, knitting socks, and building all sorts of things like garden beds, chicken coops, canoes, furniture… To be honest, my hobbies drive my husband a little bit crazy, but we love each other anyway and always work together to accomplish daily tasks.
Life gets busy – too busy sometimes. We’ve become trapped in a world of consumerism and fast-paced living. It’s time to slow down and enjoy the good life, and that is exactly what we are doing. We are trying to become more self-sufficient, living off our tiny piece of land which we will hopefully have the opportunity to expand someday.
My hope is that we can share all of our knowledge with you while we keep learning how to survive. Let’s get back to our roots together on this journey to self-sufficiency.
Welcome to our family’s little slice of the web.
